Accessibility Statement

CASA Sacramento is committed to making sacramentocasa.org usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target standard and work to improve the site’s accessibility over time.

What we do

  • Accessibility Tools menu on every page, with text resizing, high and negative contrast, grayscale, a light background, a readable font, and link underlining.
  • Keyboard access: the site can be navigated with a keyboard, interactive elements show a visible focus indicator, and every page has a “Skip to the content” link.
  • Page structure: every page has a main heading and a main content area that assistive technologies can identify.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, including our partner and sponsor logos.
  • Captions on videos hosted on YouTube.
  • Testing: our website vendor tests the site with automated accessibility tools and addresses issues as they are identified. Most recent review: October 2026.

Known limitations

  • Some text does not yet meet recommended color-contrast levels. The High Contrast and Light Background options in the Accessibility Tools menu can help in the meantime.
  • On some pages, heading levels are not yet in strict order. We are continuing to improve this.
  • Some video captions are generated automatically by YouTube and may contain errors.
  • Some PDF documents may not be fully accessible. Contact us and we will provide the information in an accessible format.
  • Some content is provided by third-party services, such as embedded video and donation or partner widgets, and is outside our direct control.
  • Our online volunteer application portal has not yet been reviewed for accessibility. If you have difficulty applying, contact us and we will help you complete your application.
